About the Role:

As a Radiologic Technologist Non-Registered PRN at AdventHealth, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging team. Your expertise in radiographic procedures and related techniques will help us deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiographic procedures and related techniques under the guidance of a licensed Radiologist.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiology procedures.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Maintain knowledge of and observe universal precautions.
  • Position patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patient comfort.
  • Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examinations.
  • Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Present radiographs to a registered technologist for evaluation of images/radiographs, assuring proper identification is recorded.
  • Assume responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
  • Practice aseptic techniques as necessary.
  • Prepare for sterile procedures.
  • Initiate basic life support actions when necessary and exhibit knowledge and skills for monitoring patient vital signs and assessment.
  • Provide patient education and determine whether female patients are or could be pregnant.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned areas and report equipment malfunctions.
  • Correlate patient clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by licensed practitioners.
  • Determine radiographic imaging technique and exposure factors under the guidance of a radiologic technologist.
  • Pursue ARRT registration and appropriate continuing education.
  • Assist in maintaining records, respecting confidentiality and established policy.
  • Follow AIDET at all times.
  • Operate Cerner System proficiently, trouble shoot problems with orders, and make corrections within scope of user level.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a technical school.
  • No previous experience required.
  • National Registry – ARRT within 1 year of employment.
  • Kansas LRT License after obtaining ARRT Certification.
  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association.
