Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Gynecology Nurse to join our team at Carle Health. As a Gynecology Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and education to individuals and families in the area of gynecology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and facilitate competent health care of patients and families in the area of gynecology.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
  • Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
  • Act as a preceptor and support the development of other staff and healthcare students.
  • Assist patients via phone to determine the urgency of care needed, referring to or scheduling appointments with providers, and giving health information and advice to callers.
  • Assist with coordination of care for gynecological patients, including referrals to outside providers.
  • Perform telephone triage of both acute and routine, chronic needs of patients.
  • Assist with in-office procedures such as IUD insertion/removal, endometrial biopsy, colposcopy, and LEEP procedures.
  • Provide in-office as well as telephone education to patients regarding gynecological issues, procedures, and surgery.
  • Administration of immunizations and medications.
  • Obtain prior authorization for procedures, surgery, and medications.
Requirements
  • College Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days.
