Position Summary:

The individual in this role will be tasked with various welding preparations, execution, and finishing processes to produce items according to customer specifications and drawings.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No supervisory duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detailing work order procedures; collecting necessary tools and materials based on provided specifications.
  • Expertise in MIG and TIG welding methods, primarily focusing on thin gauge materials with a 95% MIG usage.
  • Skilled in using both conventional and precision measuring tools.
  • Conducting inspections, certifications, and maintaining documentation.
  • Repairing and fabricating a variety of items using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
  • Monitoring welding and fitting processes to prevent overheating or warping of components.
  • Preparing, assembling, and tacking weld parts and surfaces.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the workspace and equipment.
  • Reporting any defective materials or faulty equipment to the supervisor.
  • Carrying out additional related tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of welding machinery and tools, including their design, application, maintenance, and repair.
  • Basic understanding of design principles and tools necessary for creating precise technical plans and blueprints.
  • Strong ability to comprehend and follow assignments presented in various formats.
  • Fundamental understanding of mathematics as it pertains to welding tasks.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or a successful three-year training program within the company is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to weld in vertical, flat, or overhead positions.
  • Manual dexterity and stability for precision tasks are essential.
  • Ability to see fine details at close range.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to navigate facilities and machinery through climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
