Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 160-bed *4 Star* skilled nursing facility dedicated to providing exceptional care to residents in Putnam County, New York. Our commitment to delivering high-quality care is rooted in respect and compassion, utilizing an interdisciplinary approach that prioritizes personalized goals to enhance each individual's quality of life.
Role Summary for RN Supervisor:
- Available as Full-Time or Part-Time positions.
- Shifts include: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday (4pm - 12am) and Sundays 8am - 4pm.
- The RN Supervisor will organize, oversee, and manage unit activities and staff assignments, demonstrating clinical expertise aligned with established Nursing Practice standards.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to patient needs.
- Monitor, observe, and document vital signs, treatments administered, and patient responses.
- Administer medications and treatments as required.
- Effectively communicate and direct ongoing services or any plans/concerns/information to relevant team members, residents, families, or medical staff.
- Implement disciplinary actions as outlined in policy.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, physicians, and other service providers.
- Conduct RN assessments following incidents or changes in resident conditions.
- Lead and manage emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, elopement).
- Maintain accurate nursing reports, staffing sheets, and census rosters.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN License in the State of New York.
- Experience with geriatric, short-term rehabilitation, or Alzheimer's patients is preferred.
- Progressive nursing experience in a geriatric setting; supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care to each resident.
- Genuinely interested in assisting residents who may be ill, injured, disabled, elderly, or emotionally distressed.
- Possess patience and a willingness to support residents and colleagues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills are essential.
- Able to perform well under pressure, flexible, and work collaboratively with all staff.
- Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC.
