Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Volkswagen/Audi Automotive Technician to join our team at Schumacher Auto Group. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex automotive issues with precision and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnoses and repairs of most vehicle components with little supervision required.
  • Diagnose cause of most malfunctions and perform repair.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicate with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Road test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Supervise work of any apprentice technicians, if assigned.
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean. Notify service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Keep shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Required - Automotive Trade School is a Plus
  • MUST have VW and or AUDI Training and Experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
  • Good knowledge of automobiles
  • Effective analytical and communication skills
  • Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills
  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Obtain and keep manufacture certifications up to date
  • Perform Multi-point inspections 100% of the time
  • Ability to work some scheduled Saturday's
  • Service CLOSED on Sunday

All applicants must pass pre-employment testing to qualify for employment. Pre-Employment testing includes a successful background check and drug testing.
