We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer Intern to join our team at Leopardo Construction. As a Project Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in planning, directing, and coordinating project activities.
About the RoleThe Project Engineer Intern will assist and support the Project Management, Estimating, and Field Operations Departments in ensuring all goals and objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and track critical dates of all activities affecting project completion.
- Review and process submittals, shop drawings, and RFI's.
- Establish, maintain, and update logs that meet Company or Owner's specifications.
- Participate in pre, weekly, and post-construction meetings.
- Maintain change order log to review weekly status of changes.
- Ensure correct setup and maintenance of filing and archiving systems.
- Estimating Support: Review bid documents to create quantity take-offs; develop RFI's as required.
- Participate in jobsite walkthroughs to verify actual field conditions.
- Develop a list of qualified subcontract bidders using PowerTools to attain per trade requirements.
- Communicate with subcontract bidders to increase coverage if necessary.
- Receive and analyze Subcontractor bids as they relate to drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
- Field Operations / Safety Support: Maintain daily logs, participate in Subcontractor meetings to coordinate activities.
- Complete daily jobsite walk to review conditions/progress and assist in completing audits, inspections, and daily logs.
- Update construction documents on site.
- Participate in coordination and pre-installation meetings.
- Generate field documentation to assist the LEED Project Coordinator in final submission to approving authorities.
- Generate punchlist, determine responsible subcontractor for each item, and follow up with subcontractor(s) to ensure timely completion.
- Work on site and interact with clients, owner's reps, or end users/unit owners as required by a project.
