Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for employers in court, arbitration, before administrative bodies, and during mediations concerning class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour disputes.
  • Defend clients in PAGA-related cases.
  • Prepare and respond to legal pleadings and discovery requests.
  • Draft and present motions.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Offer employment law guidance on federal and state regulations as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law institution.
  • Active membership and good standing with the California Bar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in employment litigation; experience with Class Actions and PAGA is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal and California labor and employment statutes.
  • Proven experience in taking and defending depositions and arguing motions in court.
  • Exceptional research and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage cases independently.
  • Capability to establish a course of action and guide the work of associate attorneys and paralegals when necessary.
  • Strategic and creative thinking skills to provide practical advice to clients.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid schedule, including two days in the office.

The salary range for this position is reflective of various factors considered in compensation decisions, including experience, education, licensure, geographic location, market demands, and organizational needs. Typically, individuals are not hired at or near the top of the salary range. A reasonable estimate for this position is between $160,000 and $190,000.
