Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience. Our competitive pay reflects the specialized skills and qualifications required for this role. Additionally, you will enjoy flexible scheduling, weekly guaranteed hours, and the ability to work as an independent contractor, allowing for potential tax write-offs and flexibility.

Job Description

In this role, you will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans, using data-driven strategies to address students' unique needs. You will deliver high-quality lessons in a virtual setting, adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles. Your expertise in positive behavior interventions and evidence-based methods will foster a supportive online learning environment.

You will regularly evaluate student growth and adjust your teaching methods as necessary. This role requires strong communication skills, effective collaboration with students, families, and school staff, and technology proficiency using digital learning platforms and assistive technologies.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Kansas Special Education Certification: A valid Kansas teaching license with a special education endorsement is required, and you must be up-to-date with Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) licensure requirements.
  • Experience in delivering online instruction to students with special needs, with a focus on tailored accommodations and modifications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with students, families, and school staff.
  • Technology proficiency and comfort using digital learning platforms and assistive technologies.
