Join the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital as a dedicated Critical Care ARNP in Iowa City, IA. This role requires commitment to rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, days, and weekends. Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering comprehensive medical care and management for patients in the In-Patient Intensive Care Unit(s), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and engaging in health education initiatives for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the health status of patients and perform necessary medical procedures
  • Develop and communicate effective treatment plans
  • Identify, assess, and manage both acute and chronic health conditions
  • Coordinate referrals and consultations as needed
  • Ensure accurate documentation and billing practices
  • Incorporate health information into diagnostic and treatment strategies
  • Provide continuous health education for patients and their families
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care for pediatric patients
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner within three years of employment
Educational Background:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred
  • If the Master's Degree is in a related field, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in inpatient medical care and management
  • Current nurse practitioner certification and licensure in Iowa
  • Capability to operate as an independent practitioner
