Role Purpose:
The LPN will deliver professional nursing care to patients in the office setting under the guidance of healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws.
- Adhere to regulations set by relevant health authorities (e.g., OSHA, CLIA).
- Administer various forms of medication including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous.
- Assist physicians during examinations, diagnostic tests, and treatment procedures.
- Evaluate patients' overall health and monitor vital signs and weight.
- Follow all established policies and procedures.
- Conduct IV therapy under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Document all patient interactions, interventions, and medication details in the medical records.
- Ensure confidentiality of medical records and sensitive information.
- Encourage wellness by providing educational materials and conveying physician instructions.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited LPN nursing program. A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred.
Licensure and Certifications:
CPR certification is required based on AHA standards, which includes both theoretical and practical components within the first month of employment.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
Current LPN licensure is necessary, either in the state of employment or through a multistate license if applicable.
