Job Summary:
Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a skilled EEG Specialist to join our team. As an EEG Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of electroencephalograms, including routine, portable, and continuous EEG. You will also perform long-term video EEG monitoring, setup patients, review and edit EEG data, and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electroencephalograms, including routine, portable, and continuous EEG
- Perform long-term video EEG monitoring, including setup of patients, review and editing of EEG data, and related duties
- Maintain and inventory laboratory equipment and supplies
- Help maintain laboratory and patient records, including departmental databases
- Archive patient data
- Assist in the guidance of technologists' continuing education, including directed releasing and online training
- Work with medical staff and technologists to acquire and improve EMG/NCV and/or EP skills
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an EEG program with at least one year of experience as an EEG tech or minimum 5 years of experience as an EEG tech
- Preferred: Academic and/or clinical experience in EEG, as well as EMG/NCV and/or Evoked Potentials Experience with epilepsy monitoring equipment and unit
- Registration of the American Board of EEG and EP Technologists (ABRET) and R.EEG T credential
