The Environmental Service Aide is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the hospital are clean and safe, adhering to established policies and procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

A typical day for an Environmental Service Aide includes:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other areas of the facility in a timely manner.
  • Delivering linens and removing trash from assigned areas.
  • Sweeping and mopping patient rooms.
  • Maintaining adequate stock of materials, supplies, and chemicals on cleaning carts and in janitor's closets.
  • Consistently performing daily floor care procedures.
  • Ensuring equipment is kept clean and polished, with carts, tanks, and buckets emptied and rinsed at shift end.

To succeed in this role, you should possess excellent communication and customer service skills, be able to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, and demonstrate a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers.
