RESEARCH ANALYST ROLE

As a Research Analyst (RA) at The Brattle Group, you will play a vital role within our project teams, collaborating closely with senior consultants and specialists. Your duties will encompass:

  • Development of Quantitative Models: You will construct economic, financial, and operational models utilizing Excel (e.g., valuation models, estimating cost of capital).
  • Comprehensive Research and Analysis: You will perform extensive research, including financial statement analysis, market evaluations, literature reviews, document assessments, and drafting memos to provide insights and support expert reports.
  • Assisting Expert Witnesses: You will aid in the preparation of expert reports and presentations, facilitating our experts in articulating complex economic and financial concepts clearly in legal and regulatory settings.
  • Team Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork are essential. You will work closely with colleagues at all levels, contributing to the creation of robust and innovative solutions for our clients.
TYPICAL CASES IN SECURITIES (CORPORATE FINANCE)

Within the Securities practice, you will engage in cases such as:

  • Valuation Analysis: Developing models to evaluate the worth of financial assets, intangible properties, and securities.
  • Accounting Assessments: Evaluating a company's internal controls to detect manipulation and improper revenue recognition. Identifying fraud patterns through tracing analysis, fund flow assessments, and financial statement reviews.
  • Securities Regulation Compliance: Analyzing trading activities and earnings to evaluate the potential for fraud and illegal conduct.
  • Bankruptcy and Restructuring Evaluations: Reviewing restructuring proposals, financial disclosures, and analyzing creditor recovery prospects.
  • White Collar Fraud Investigations: Scrutinizing extensive databases of documents and financial data to uncover fraud and money laundering activities.
RA CAREER DEVELOPMENT

  • An undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., economics, finance, business, accounting), with a strong academic record.
