Key Responsibilities- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel-powered vehicles, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of parts.
- Diagnostic Expertise: Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and repair complex issues with vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks on all maintenance work to ensure it meets Sysco's high standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians, supervisors, and managers to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, techniques, and industry developments to maintain expertise and improve performance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty fleet maintenance, with a focus on diesel-powered vehicles.
- Certifications: ASE certifications in medium/heavy-duty trucks, as well as EPA section 608 and 609 certifications.
- Skills: Expert knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems; strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and physical demands of the job. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 100 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces.
