Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough oral health care assessments, including review of patient health history, dental charting, and oral cancer screening.
- Expose, process, and interpret dental radiographs to diagnose and treat oral health issues.
- Administer local anesthetic to ensure patient comfort during procedures.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and counsel them on plaque control and nutrition.
- Provide professional prophylaxis, including application of topical fluoride and periodontal screening procedures.
- Remove calcareous deposits, accretion, and stains from teeth.
- Polish teeth, including existing restorations, to maintain a healthy and aesthetically pleasing smile.
- Apply pit and fissure sealants to prevent tooth decay.
- Take dental x-rays and develop dental x-rays to diagnose oral health issues.
- Screen patients for oral health risks and provide education on preventive dental care.
- Take impressions for study casts to create accurate dental models.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Completion of a dental hygiene program from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a dental hygienist in a healthcare setting.
- Valid NYS license as a Dental Hygienist.
- CPR Certification.
- NYS approved class in Infection Control.
- NYS accreditation for Local Anesthesia Infiltration (preferred).
- Clinical skills and knowledge of oral health care procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients and work effectively with healthcare teams.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Patience and empathy to provide compassionate care to patients.
- Accountability and responsibility to maintain accurate patient records and adhere to healthcare regulations.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Occasional exposure to noise, vibration, gases, mists, and odors in a healthcare setting.
- Frequent exposure to bodily fluids and bloodborne pathogens in a healthcare setting.

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.

Pay Range Minimum: USD $29.56/Hr
Pay Range Maximum: USD $44.34/Hr
