Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Thresholds High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in educating and supporting students with ongoing serious mental health needs.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced teacher who can develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs of our students. You will work closely with a teacher's aide to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic achievement and personal growth.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for students with varying levels of academic ability and previous achievement
  • Supervise and instruct students in the classroom, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Monitor and grade student performance, providing feedback and encouragement to help students achieve their goals
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to provide comprehensive support to students and their families
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or Special Education required; Master's degree preferred
  • Current Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) license required
  • Passion for mental health advocacy and commitment to providing high-quality education and support to students with serious mental health needs
