About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Howmet Aerospace in Dover, New Jersey. As a key member of our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with location fatality prevention efforts, including leading the deployment and execution of key fatality prevention elements and coaching location leaders.
  • Analyze injury and incident data to assist line management in implementing focused injury reduction efforts and provide expertise to proactively address injury reduction efforts.
  • Assist with the facility's industrial hygiene program, including execution of IH sampling plans, administration of IH databases and employee exposure records, hazardous material management, ergonomics oversight, and serving as the radiation protection technical resource.
  • Provide technical expertise and participate in injury/incident investigations to assist in identifying root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Coach and counsel departmental leaders in the execution of their EHS accountabilities.
  • Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives.
  • Lead and assist with other EHS accountabilities.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the safety and health programs by serving as the technical expert for the site, including key programs such as lock-out tag-out, machine guarding, mobile equipment, fall control, and confined spaces.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of health or safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items, and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
