Position: Enrichment Instructor (Part-Time)Role Overview

Position Summary
- Deliver engaging in-person enrichment classes to elementary or middle school students within one of our After-School programs, focusing on areas such as Art & Culture, STEM, or Health & Wellbeing, under the guidance of the Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement dynamic weekly lesson plans that meet Oakland Leaf's high standards of quality.
- Lead project-based learning experiences for elementary or middle school students, engaging two distinct groups in two separate 1-hour sessions each day.
- Adhere to Oakland Leaf's classroom management practices, including maintaining visible daily agendas and community agreements.
- Establish consistent routines and structures for students to follow.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to innovation, excellence in social and restorative justice, and youth development.
- Address youth behavior with a warm yet assertive approach.
- Complete necessary administrative duties, including student attendance tracking, reporting, and surveys.
- Engage in mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of TB and background checks from FBI and DOJ.
- Possess 48 semester college units or pass the Instructional Aide examination.
- Ability to effectively manage and support a group of 20 elementary or middle school students.
- Strong planning and instructional delivery skills.
- Alignment with Oakland Leaf's mission and values.
Working Conditions
- Standard school and office working environment.
- Occasional offsite meetings may be required.
- Availability for evening events is necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
Compensation
- Hourly compensation ranging from $20 to $25, commensurate with experience.
- Paid breaks during school closures.
