Job Summary

As a Catering Operations Manager with Compass Group USA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our catering operations at the Oregon Zoo. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate catering staff schedules to ensure timely delivery of services
  • Prepare and serve food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Director
  • May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions
  • Determine workload requirements from catering orders
  • Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements and address last-minute changes
  • Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and instruct staff on work expectations
  • Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications and assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations
  • Serve food and beverages to guests and return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils
  • Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license may be required
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law
