Memory Care Medication Aide

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Oaks Senior Living in Charleston. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing hands-on supervision of caregiver staff and administering medications according to state regulations and our policies.
Responsibilities- Supervise caregiver staff during their shift to ensure quality resident care and uphold our residence philosophy and resident well-being.
- Administer medications to residents in accordance with their Medication Observation Record (MOR) and protect resident privacy.
- Provide personalized care and services to residents, upholding our policies and procedures, and responding effectively to emergency situations.
- Document clearly and accurately on the Medication Observation Record (MOR) after a medication is taken/given, refused, held, discontinued, changed, disposed of, returned.
- Communicate residents' needs with caregiver staff at change of shift and report any changes noted in a resident's condition or behavior, adverse reaction to a medication, or any resident or family member concerns.
- A minimum of one year of experience working with residents in a Senior Living environment.
- Supervisory experience in a healthcare or service industry preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Friendly, caring disposition and desire to work with older adults.
- Experience working with Alzheimer's/Dementia older adults.
- Must be 21 years of age and have a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician and a negative drug screen.
- Must be able to react in an emergency situation.
