Responsibilities:- Design and implement individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of students with learning disabilities, emotional impairments, or cognitive impairments.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) for students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Provide direct academic intervention services to eligible students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Assess and record student progress, providing regular feedback and progress reports to parents/guardians.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and incidents.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) to determine potential eligibility for special education services.
- Implement Restorative Practices strategies to promote social-emotional learning and positive relationships among students, staff, and families.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and instructional strategies.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university.
- Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Learning Disabilities (SM), Emotional Impairment (SE), Cognitive Impairment (SA), or Autism Spectrum Disorders (SV).
- Recent teaching experience, coursework, or other activity related to primary instruction.
- Creative, committed, energetic, and well-organized.
- Strong moral values and discipline.
