Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care to assigned patients, employing the nursing process.
- Work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse during the orientation phase.
- Engage in collaborative care planning with physicians, patients, and their families.
- Utilize research findings to enhance nursing practices and participate in data collection for ongoing studies.
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency and compassion in patient care, including medication administration and emergency management.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in all nursing practices.
- Document patient care in accordance with established protocols.
- Facilitate continuity of care through effective discharge planning and patient education.
- Act as an advocate for patients and their families, upholding their rights.
- Support the training and development of team members to optimize patient care.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Possession of a Temporary Graduate Nurse permit or Registered Nurse license from the State of Texas prior to employment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ACLS or PALS certification required within six months of departmental transfer, if applicable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position primarily operates in a climate-controlled setting with occasional exposure to various noise levels and minimal exposure to potentially infectious materials. The role involves physical activities such as lifting, walking, and standing, necessitating the ability to manage stress effectively.
