Job Summary

MultiSource Mfg is seeking a skilled Machinist A to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and verifying the quality of work on a wide variety of CNC Lathe machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex set-ups on CNC machines with minimal supervision.
  • Monitor and correct variations in sequence, positioning, and cycle time.
  • Work from drawings and specifications with minimal direction.
  • Troubleshoot complex machining job problems without supervision.
  • Run production and deburr parts as required.
  • Edit programs for CNC machines.
  • Ability to write long-hand basic programs for quick turn-around projects.
  • Help determine the best machining process.
  • Select and align tooling, fixtures, and attachments for machining.
  • Adjust machine to produce a conforming product.
  • Perform in-process inspection of own work while running the machine.
  • Complete required paperwork and keep material and paperwork organized.
  • Collaborate with and support other employees in the department.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with all established safety rules and work practices.
  • Keep the Team Leader informed of job, machine, and equipment-related problems.
  • Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Conform to the company quality system as documented.

Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of Vo-Tech training in machine tool technology or a related area.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
  • 5+ years of machine set-up and operating experience in a job shop environment.
  • Very strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
