Job Description: Academic Support Specialist

**About the Position:**We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as an Academic Support Specialist at Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students' academic success by assisting teachers in planning and implementing educational programs, ensuring a safe learning environment, and maintaining accurate records.
**Responsibilities and Expectations:*** Assist Master Teachers in developing curriculum and lesson plans* Ensure classroom materials and supplies are organized and accessible* Maintain accurate records of student progress and development* Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate with parents about student progress* Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment* Attend professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge* Follow all policies and procedures related to confidentiality, data protection, and crisis intervention

Qualifications and Requirements:* Associate Degree in early childhood education or current preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required* Experience working in a licensed or registered early childhood setting preferred* Strong organizational and communication skills* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information* Familiarity with curriculum design and instructional strategies
