About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Principal Architect to join our Cloud Infrastructure team at eBay Inc. (0010). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing our global cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and develop a robust and scalable private cloud infrastructure tailored to meet the specific needs of our business demands.
  • Design and implement cloud solutions with a focus on security, reliability, self-service, automation, and scalability while ensuring compliance with industry standards and standard methodologies.
  • Lead the migration of applications, services, and processes from traditional environments to the private cloud.
  • Collaborate with Security teams to establish and maintain a secure private cloud environment, including data protection and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Work closely with network and systems engineers to build the next generation of our private cloud infrastructure and provide technical mentorship and leadership in the adoption of containerization and cloud-native technologies within the private cloud.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the cloud architecture, including design specifications, operational procedures, and architectural diagrams.
  • Serve as a domain expert and advisor to IT leadership on private cloud strategies and standard methodologies.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in the conception, construction, and upkeep of private cloud ecosystems, with hands-on experience in platforms like Kubernetes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, along with expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Proficiency in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and configuration management toolsets.
  • Demonstrated ability in Object-Oriented Design and Distributed Programming, with a preference for proficiency in C, C++, Golang, or Java.
  • A comprehensive grasp of networking and data center infrastructure specifically tailored for private cloud settings.
  • Outstanding capabilities in troubleshooting, effective communication, and steering project initiatives to successful completion.
  • Dedication to collaboratively share in engineering support duties, manage software releases, and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $187,600 - $291,500, depending on location, skills, and experience. Our total compensation package includes a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable), as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave.
