About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team in a school setting. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing speech and language services to students with exceptional educational needs.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized speech and language plans, providing direct and consultative services to students, and collaborating with educators and other professionals to support student learning.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of universal classroom modifications to support student learning.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of referred students, interpret findings, and prepare written reports.
  • Participate in the Individual Education Program (IEP) process, contributing to the development of educationally appropriate speech and language goals and objectives.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech and language services to students in educational environments.
  • Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support student learning and implement speech and language plans.
  • Travel to and among schools to provide services to students.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily documentation, Medicaid billing logs, IEPs, and progress reports.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations and laws related to speech and language services in schools.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)-accredited program.
  • A valid Department of Public Instruction license in good standing, or equivalent licensure in the state where the position is located.
  • 1+ year of experience in a school-based setting, preferably in speech and language pathology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, educators, and parents.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to and among schools. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull up to 75 pounds, and stand/walk for extended periods. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
