A Day in the Life

As a Cloud Data Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, including:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining Accumulo-based solutions and databases according to project requirements.
  • Enhancing and optimizing the performance of Accumulo databases by fine-tuning configurations, improving data access patterns, and implementing best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining efficient data models within Accumulo for optimal data storage and retrieval.
  • Implementing robust security measures and access controls within Accumulo to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Collaborating with other teams to integrate Accumulo databases into various applications and systems.
  • Monitoring Accumulo clusters, diagnosing issues, and performing necessary maintenance tasks to ensure the system's health and reliability.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for Accumulo solutions, including design, implementation, and maintenance processes.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in Accumulo development and administration.
  • Direct experience with or knowledge of DataWave.
  • Proficiency in Java programming language.
  • Strong understanding of distributed computing principles.
  • Experience in designing and optimizing Accumulo databases for performance and scalability.
  • Solid knowledge of security implementations within Accumulo, including access control mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with other big data technologies and frameworks (Hadoop, HBase, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with agile software development.
  • BS in Accounting, Information Systems, or other related field.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret Federal Government clearance.
