About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Certification Specialist to join our team at Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas LLC. As a key member of our certification team, you will be responsible for working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and airlines to develop and execute large-scale certification programs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in aircraft interior certification, with experience in TSO/ETSO product testing, project management, and risk management. You will also possess exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and lead teams when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute certification programs, ensuring compliance with applicable CFR and CS regulations;
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, such as FAA/EASA, for coordination and approvals;
  • Liaise with airlines, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely project completion;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date certification records;
  • Reduce risks on programs by providing Risk Management reviews and surfacing issues in real-time;
  • Support quoting and work scope for new business and forecast capacity needs;
  • Aid in developing standardization of certification procedures;
  • Liaison with industry working groups for rule making;
  • Follow company's internal processes;
  • Train/Mentor new engineers in compliance findings;
  • Approval of TSO/ETSO compliance documents;

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Aerospace/Mechanical or related field, with at least 6 years' experience in aircraft interior products, or Master's degree in Engineering with at least 4 years' experience;
  • Aircraft Interior certification experience in TSO/ETSO product testing;
  • Strong Project Management skills related to certification, with the ability to establish track and maintain schedules from multiple suppliers or on multiple projects;
  • Risk Management skills; ability to review current issues/program status and identify and manage project risks;
  • Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency, and sensitivity to deadlines;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work within or lead teams when required;
  • Ability to work with both domestic and international regulatory compliance offices and form good working relationships;
  • Prior experience in a technical leadership is desired;
  • Experience in CATIA V4 or V5 or a similar program is preferred;
  • Experience in MS OFFICE products is a must;
  • Experience in using matrix parts lists with high variant diversity in SAP is desired;

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
