Loan Assistant

As a Loan Assistant at Southern Bank, you will play a vital role in supporting our Loan Officers in various duties. This position is responsible for interacting with customers, Loan Officers, and Loan Processing personnel to complete tasks associated with loan origination and servicing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain information related to the loan origination process, including credit reports, appraisals, and insurance information.
  • Answer loan customer inquiries and provide assistance with routine matters.
  • Prepare disbursement worksheets, loan documentation checklists, and other communications necessary to properly document credit files.
  • Ensure timely scanning of loan documentation and customer information into the core system.
  • File liens, including deeds of trust and notice of liens, in a timely manner to protect the bank's lien on collateral.
  • Assist Loan Officers in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Receive and clear tracking reports, ensuring that outstanding issues are properly documented and resolved.
  • Perform clerical tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning loan files.
  • Act as liaison between Loan Officers and Loan Processing department.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Previous experience in customer service or loan administration.
  • Knowledge of general banking policies and procedures.
