About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Optician to join our team as a Traveling Eyewear Professional. As an Optician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret prescriptions and assist patients in selecting the perfect eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as needed
  • Take optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation and order eyewear from the laboratory based on prescription and patient preference
  • Perform quality inspections of lenses and frames, and adjust eyewear to fit patients using the appropriate tools and instruct on cleaning and handling
  • Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies, and make any necessary repairs using the appropriate parts and tools

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous optical experience preferred; willing to train if eager to learn
  • ABO and NCLE certification a plus, will be required within 6 months of hire
  • Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Flexible schedule working Monday through Friday
