Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retro peritoneal, small parts, and vascular exams. You will also be required to practice all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produces quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Prepares patients for exams, provides information and instruction, and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Assists patients during exams, positions them, and observes their condition.
  • Facilitates smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment/resources.
  • Communicates with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff to facilitate the continuum of care.
  • Performs IV starts and contrast administration as required.
  • Assists with patient transport as needed.
  • Maintains technical operation of equipment, notifies service when necessary, and logs service calls/problems.
  • Maintains a clean work area for employees and patients.
  • Participates in clinical training for students and/or staff technologists.
  • Engages in professional activities through involvement in organizations, journal clubs, online education, etc.
  • Represents the mission, vision, and values of the organization through volunteer activities.
  • Actively participates in department/hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains compliance with all State, Federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  • CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Ability to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
