Urban Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for a committed and skilled Urban Infrastructure Engineer to become part of our Trees and Sidewalks Program. This position is essential for overseeing the restoration of city sidewalks while promoting the vitality of urban trees. The ideal candidate will manage contractors, ensure adherence to project specifications, and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly report to a Professional Engineer (PE). Conduct daily site inspections, potentially visiting up to 10 locations based on operational needs. Supervise both small and large contractors on streets and occasionally in parks. Provide clear and concise communication with clients, delivering high-quality written and verbal reports. Review contract details and oversee various services, including saw cutting, excavation, planting, concrete restoration, and completion of punch lists.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Forestry, Arboriculture, Horticulture, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction management, particularly in field inspection roles.
Requirements:
- A personal vehicle is necessary (note: mileage and tolls are not reimbursable). Ability to travel between 10-20 sites daily. OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain it upon receiving an offer (at personal expense).
- Work hours:
7 AM—3:30/4 PM, with the possibility of reduced hours in winter due to weather conditions. Must be comfortable working outdoors at all times.
