Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CDL-A Driver/Rigger Trainee to join our team at MEI Rigging & Crating. As a CDL-A Driver/Rigger Trainee, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor & trailer rigs to transport equipment and crews to job sites, as well as performing rigging tasks to support the movement of heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routinely hauls oversize/overweight loads, up to 12' wide, 110,000 lb. gross weight, and ensures safe handling and securement of loads.
  • Drives safely and under DOT regulations to transport equipment and crews to job sites.
  • Signals or verbally directs workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Attaches loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
  • Manipulates rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment, ships, or theatrical sets.
  • Operates vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, tractor trailers, telehandlers, aerial boom lifts, etc.
  • Tests rigging to ensure safety and reliability and dismantles and stores rigging equipment after use.
Requirements
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Manual Transmission
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of operating equipment, such as forklifts, man lifts, platforms lift, etc.
  • Ability to use take measure, hand power, and pneumatic tools.
