Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Health Physicist to join our team at the Department of Energy. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the public.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and develop regulations, standards, and policies aimed at radiation protection of the public and environment.
- Perform radiological impact assessments of the public and environment, applying modeling codes such as the RESRAD family of codes and the MARSSIM methodology.
- Collaborate with field and contractor Health Physics professional staff and with counterpart officials of other Federal agencies or private sector.
- Serve as liaison for matters concerning radiation protection in the private or public sector.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Must have a degree in a natural science or engineering field, with at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus.
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service.
