Job Overview: The Accounting Manager will take charge of the accounting division, ensuring precise financial reporting and overseeing daily accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in the construction, engineering, or home building sectors and demonstrate proficiency in utilizing JD Edwards, Sage 100, or comparable ERP systems. This role requires on-site presence, with the Accounting Manager supervising a team of up to four staff members.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the daily functions of the accounting department, which includes accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting along with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and evaluate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of four accounting professionals.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for strategic business decisions.
  • Utilize ERP systems such as JD Edwards, Sage 100, or similar to maintain accurate financial records and enhance accounting processes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar capacity within the construction, engineering, or home building industry.
  • Expertise in JD Edwards, Sage 100, or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Irving, Texas.
