Swim Coach

We are seeking an experienced and certified swim coach to join our team at the Jewish Community Center on the Hudson Inc. as a Swim Instructor.

The successful candidate will lead group, private, and semi-private swim lessons to all ages and ability levels, creating a fun, safe, and inviting learning environment.

Our ideal candidate is someone who can build strong relationships with participants, continually recommends classes based on skill levels, and maintains accurate records as required by the JCC.

• Lecture, demonstrate, and supervise aquatic activities to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Attend all scheduled classes within a session; secure substitutes and provide lesson plans when necessary.
• Maintain constant watch on class participants and ensure the highest level of safety during the class.
• Enforce safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations for the pool and aquatic area.

As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for promoting aquatic programs, attending in-service trainings, and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

Aquatics New Hire Orientation before first shift, ARC (or equivalent) CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, ARC (or equivalent) First Aid, and ARC (or equivalent) WSI certifications are required.

You must have 0-1 year of teaching experience in aquatics working with children or adults in group settings for Swim Instructor I.

For Swim Instructor II, you need 1-3 years of teaching experience in aquatics working with children or adults in group settings.

For Swim Instructor III, you require 4+ years of teaching experience in aquatics working with children or adults in group settings.

Estimated salary range $45,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
