Position Overview
Salary: $25/Hr.
Role Summary
This role involves performing professional duties related to the development, organization, administration, and evaluation of various programs and functions. The incumbent will provide guidance and technical expertise to program staff, other departments, the community, and participants. The position may involve coordinating specialized programs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will deliver nutritional services for Hillsborough County Health Care Services, including but not limited to:
- Nutrition counseling
- Educational initiatives
- Menu planning and development of educational resources.
Additionally, collaboration with staff to develop, organize, administer, and assess community programs is essential.
The individual must possess strong attention to detail, the ability to work autonomously, and demonstrate effective training and communication skills. A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from an ACEND-accredited program is required.
Proficiency in both English and Spanish, both written and verbal, is mandatory. The candidate should also have experience in teaching and training individuals and groups.
Work Locations
This position primarily operates in the south county areas, including:
- SouthShore Community Resource Center
- Wimauma Suncoast Healthy Living Fitness Center.
Occasional work at additional locations may be required, necessitating reliable transportation.

Key Responsibilities
Note: The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive.
Depending on the assigned area, incumbents may perform various activities, including:
- Planning, developing, organizing, and evaluating work processes to ensure efficient program service delivery.
- Participating in needs assessment data analysis to support grant applications for funding.
- Interpreting and explaining policies, processes, and regulations related to assigned programs to resolve issues and provide information to participants.
- Coordinating actions across multiple organizational entities and ensuring compliance with program requirements.
- Reviewing program operations for compliance, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and recommending corrective actions.
- Instructing individuals and groups on compliance with program regulations.
- Conducting training and presentations for various audiences.
- Recruiting and training volunteers and staff, developing work schedules for adequate coverage.
- Gathering feedback through customer surveys to assess program services and satisfaction.
- Resolving operational challenges and determining effective solutions.
Qualifications
Required: Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) AND graduation from an accredited four-year college or university; AND one year of relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Emergency Management Responsibilities
In emergencies, employees may be required to fulfill duties as assigned by their department or the County's Office of Emergency Management.
Additional Requirements
Employees must maintain the ability to pass background checks relevant to the position, which may include criminal history and child abuse checks, among others.
