POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assembly Technician will undertake manual tasks essential for assembling products, from circuit boards to the final assembly stage. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, inserting electronic components into printed circuit boards, installing parts or sub-assemblies into product housings, soldering, labeling, packaging products, and maintaining a clean workspace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare circuit boards by utilizing various components for final assembly.
  • Carefully place small components into circuit boards using manual dexterity.
  • Perform touch-up soldering as needed.
  • Change parts and house units as required.
  • Assist with part preparation when necessary.
  • Identify colors accurately.
  • Label and package units for shipping.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
  • Follow work instructions with precision and attention to detail.
  • Inspect personal work and that of colleagues for quality assurance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The role requires regular communication and listening skills. Frequent use of hands and fingers, reaching with arms, standing, sitting, and walking are essential. The individual must possess the manual dexterity to use tools for extended periods and the cognitive ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously. The ability to lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds is necessary, with team lifting as needed. Specific vision requirements include close vision and the ability to differentiate colors.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet, with potential interruptions in workflow. The position may occasionally require handling absentee replacements on short notice.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must effectively perform the essential functions outlined above. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical conditions required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in assembly or manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for optimizing manufacturing and distribution.
  • Ability to monitor instrumentation or indicators to ensure proper machine operation.
  • Basic comprehension of parts assembly.
  • Cognitive skills to follow and understand work instructions.
  • Basic math calculation abilities.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Highly organized and capable of maintaining a collaborative work environment.
