Tax Analyst/Clerk

The Town of Ashland's Treasurer-Collector Department is seeking a full-time Tax Analyst/Clerk to join their team. This role involves processing tax and utility payments, posting payments, and maintaining spreadsheets.

• Provide exceptional customer service in person, via telephone, and email
• Offer tax information to individuals, attorneys, and tax services
• Process Municipal Lien Certificates and verify accuracy of information
• Manage receivables, verify transactions, and post to Munis software
• Create various reports on a regular basis using Munis software
• Collect payments, post to Munis, balance, and make deposits
• Balanace General Bank account monthly
• Process Tax Title releases
• Research bills and process refunds
• Post payment and data in various software modules
• Process tax service payment files quarterly
• Maintain excel spreadsheets
• Generate reports monthly, quarterly, and annually
• Perform accounts receivables and payables for the department
• Follow up on returned bills, rejected checks, and misdirected mail

This role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and one to three years of related experience. Associate's degree in business, finance, or a related discipline is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to establish effective working relationships with the town and public.

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $48,424 and $59,139 based on the starting range of $23.0554/hour and the full range of $29.0956/hour, respectively.
