We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Acute Care team at Emory University Midtown. This is a Weekend Only position, working with our Oncology team to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluation and Treatment of Patients: Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients, working closely with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately document the delivery of care in patient medical records, maintaining up-to-date and detailed records of patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems.
- Physical Examinations and Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct physical examinations and perform specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures, including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes, under the direction of a physician.
- Assisting Physicians: Assist physicians in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment, working collaboratively to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
- Ordering and Scheduling Laboratory Tests: Order, schedule, and/or perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, such as urinalyses, pregnancy and blood tests, and x-rays, as needed.
- Education and Certification: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program, and current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Experience and Skills: May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties, with BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required, and ACLS may be required in some areas. Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP) for inpatient roles within Emory Healthcare.
