Job Summary:

Trinity Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Medical Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and promoting a safe and welcoming environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preliminary physical tests, including vital sign measurements and other measures as directed by established clinical protocols.
  • Prepare patients for healthcare provider visits, including obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as ordered by healthcare providers.
  • Perform routine tests, including EKGs, and schedule patients for diagnostic testing.
  • Communicate test results and plan of care to patients by phone or mail as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Prepare and clean instruments, maintain equipment, and keep patient exam rooms stocked and clean.
  • Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Escalate non-routine issues, questions, and concerns to the practice manager or healthcare providers.
  • Ensure safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required.
  • Provide patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

CMA:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required if applicable.
  • Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid Medication Aide certification by state agency required if applicable.
  • May require specialized training such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician (NCT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to the population served within three (3) months of hire.
LPN:
  • Possession of a current license as a practical nurse issued by the State of Iowa.
  • Successfully completes required medication examination prior to passing medication.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
RN:
  • Possession of a current RN License issued by the State of Iowa.
  • Clinic/Physician office experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
