We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Scheduler to join our team at Sierra View Local Health Care District. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will be responsible for effectively communicating with patients, visitors, and staff to schedule exams and testing.
Key Responsibilities- Display excellent telephone reception techniques, scheduling, and referring calls as needed.
- Explain correct preps for exams to patients and physicians' offices.
- Process diagnostic Imaging Services reports, including corrections, mailing, courier pick-up, and faxing.
- Maintain adequate stock of office supplies.
- Schedule patients, obtaining correct demographic and billing information, and maintain accurate appointment schedules.
- Schedule procedures according to department policies and procedures in the Medi-tech system.
- Process patient information, creating correct requisitions based on physician orders.
- Fax preliminary reports to physician's offices or hospital nursing floors as needed.
- Call and send mail reminders to patients for appointment reminders.
- Work directly with Specials Technologist to ensure all Interventional procedures are scheduled according to resources requested.
- Process search for BUN and Creatinine levels of specific patients prior to exams.
- Be cross-trained and willing to float to other areas of Radiology as needed.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of Medical Terminology.
- Experience in medical office receptionist and scheduling required.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and calculate figures.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
This position requires the ability to work normal/scheduled working hours, including holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. The employee shall work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines, and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
