American Family Care Louisville is on the lookout for a dedicated Radiologic Technologist (LSRT/RT) to fill a full-time role. This position also encompasses responsibilities in medical assisting. The perfect candidate will be proactive, eager to expand their medical expertise, and possess a strong work ethic. Candidates must be available for 12-hour shifts. Our clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM and Saturday to Sunday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with approximately four weekend shifts required each month. We seek a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

X-ray Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients, ensuring they have removed all jewelry and metal items, are in appropriate medical attire, and confirm they are not pregnant.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
  • Utilize immobilization devices to achieve optimal imaging views as directed by the healthcare provider.
  • Communicate procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Process images and verify proper identification and quality control.
  • Operate both digital and non-digital imaging equipment, adhering to approved radiology techniques and all company policies.
  • Prepare images for review by healthcare providers and coordinate with additional providers for second opinions when necessary.
  • Assist providers with patient treatments following established standards and protocols.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and arrange for repairs as needed.
  • Complete documentation and maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Observe safety protocols and contribute to a secure and pleasant work environment.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Maintain regular attendance to support efficient clinic operations.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
  • Prepare equipment and assist providers during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of ordered tests.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to approved protocols.
  • Be attentive to the comfort and needs of patients.
  • Start and maintain lab equipment daily, performing scheduled maintenance.
  • Document all lab requests and results accurately in daily logs.
  • Collect blood samples using aseptic techniques.
  • Conduct laboratory tests following established instructions.
  • Administer IV fluids to patients (training provided if not certified).
  • Perform daily quality control and cleaning procedures as per guidelines.
  • Order and manage supplies weekly.
  • Respond to lab messages and assist with call-back requests.
  • Utilize lab software and equipment according to proper procedures.
  • Collect specimens using approved methods and protocols.
  • Monitor patients, documenting significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or providers as necessary.
  • Respond to emergency situations based on established standards and protocols.
  • Conduct drug screening procedures in compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient immunizations.
  • Facilitate provider referrals and service pre-certifications as needed.
  • Document patients' past medical histories accurately.
  • Rotate through various clinical services, including lab, medical assisting, and front desk duties.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments and equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and laundry is managed.
  • Handle challenging customer situations with a focus on service excellence.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and observe safety protocols.
  • Respond to patient messages, documenting interactions in the electronic medical records system.
  • Assist with patient discharge duties and share responsibility for call-back sheets.
  • Exhibit regular attendance to support efficient clinic operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Handle difficult or emotional customer situations with professionalism.
  • Uphold organizational values by treating individuals with respect and integrity.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Serve as a Medical Receptionist or medical assistant as needed.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands effectively.
