Job Summary

FirstEnergy is seeking qualified Journey Line Workers to join our team in Distribution. As a Journey Line Worker, you will be responsible for building and maintaining electric power systems, restoring service to customers, and working on various projects throughout our service territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test, frame, and set poles; climb poles, work in confined spaces; splice and terminate cables
  • Work on transmission and distribution lines, including underground and overhead work
  • Operate hydraulic equipment, including drills, boom trucks, and diggers
  • Drive safely and work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Requirements
  • Completion of a federal or state-sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with approved supporting documentation
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with electric utility or a utility lines construction contractor
  • Valid Class A driving permit and DMV medical exam
  • Ability to work in all types of weather and road conditions
  • Capable of working extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
