POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves functioning as a skilled technician capable of diagnosing and repairing various automotive issues. The candidate should possess experience as a B Class general service technician and be proficient in specific repair areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Executing tasks as detailed on repair orders with precision and adherence to dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Identifying the root cause of malfunctions and performing necessary repairs.
- Coordinating with the parts department to procure required components.
- Tagging and preserving parts related to warranty claims or customer requests.
- Assessing vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is necessary.
- Informing the service advisor promptly about any additional work needed or if the outlined tasks are unnecessary.
- Documenting all performed work and recommendations on the repair order.
- Conducting road tests on vehicles when required or referring to the designated test technician.
- Participating in training programs and events sponsored by manufacturers.
- Staying updated on technical bulletins from manufacturers.
- Overseeing the work of apprentice technicians as assigned.
- Reporting any equipment defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Ensuring that customer vehicles are maintained in a clean condition and notifying the service advisor of any changes.
- Maintaining a tidy work area.
- Accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, ensuring they are returned in their original condition.
- Complying with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and safety protocols.
- Utilizing tools and equipment safely and reporting any safety concerns to management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two to four years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from various stakeholders.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of interpreting a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form and managing multiple variables.
