About YouthBuild VISTA Program

Queens Community House (QCH) is a multi-service settlement house dedicated to serving the diverse neighborhoods of Queens. With programs and services for children and youth, adults and families, and older adults, we impact over 25,000 individuals annually. Our mission is to provide individuals and families with the tools to enrich their lives and build healthy, inclusive communities through various initiatives.

We are seeking a highly motivated YouthBuild Recruitment Ambassador to join our team. As a Recruitment Ambassador, you will play a key role in increasing program enrollment by navigating the community and expressing the benefits of YouthBuild to residents through personal experience and/or alumni testimony.

Responsibilities:
• Assist with creating efficient systems and structures for the recruitment program with clear expectations and steps to support opportunity youth.
• Meet monthly with the Program Assistant to identify and/or clarify issues regarding prospective YouthBuild candidates' enrollment progress, support needs, and personal/professional goals.
• Assist with creating replicable social activities monthly to encourage outreach and recruitment of community members who understand the YouthBuild Program.
• Attend all relevant young adult recruitment events (including some evenings and weekends) and work to build recruitment and outreach opportunities within communities and/or participant referral partnerships.

Requirements:
• Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with teammates.
• Ability to navigate the community and express the benefits of YouthBuild to residents.
• High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Age 18 or older.

Benefits:
• Stipend: $1,500 per month
• Education award upon successful completion of service: up to $6,195.60
