Overview

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our Consultation/Liaison Unit at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Our Behavioral Health Center offers a comprehensive suite of services for mental health, including First Episode Psychosis program, medical services, opioid treatment, substance use disorders services, and more. Our team of experts delivers compassionate care in a secure environment, respecting each patient's dignity and partnering with them on their recovery journey.

Our services range from psychopharmacology and various forms of psychotherapy to specialized programs like outpatient withdrawal management, medication maintenance, and support for personal development goals. Each patient receives a personalized assessment and treatment plan tailored to their specific needs, ensuring a holistic approach to recovery and health management.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, protocols, and ethical standards of Kings County Hospital
  • Respond to requests for psychiatric consultations by physicians caring for children and adults admitted to the emergency departments and inpatient services in Kings County
  • Provide recommendations for necessary psychiatric care and advice on disposition for patients whose physicians have requested psychiatric consultation
  • Supervise residents, fellows, and medical students rotating on the Psychiatry Consultation-liaison service (CL)
  • Partner with Behavioral Health leadership to foster inter-departmental collaboration
  • Adhere to psychiatry CL protocols and participate in psychiatry CL team meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Chief of Service
Qualifications
  • Must be board eligible or board certified in Psychiatry
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine
  • Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry
  • License to practice medicine in the State of New York
