Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team at Soliant. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to students with diverse needs, fostering communication skills that are essential for academic success and social interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess and evaluate students' speech, language, and communication skills to identify areas of need.
  • Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) based on assessment results.
  • Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs within the classroom.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
  • IEP Meetings: Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert recommendations and updates on student progress.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and new developments in speech-language pathology.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards of practice.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Valid Illinois State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certification: Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology (formerly Type 73 Certification) required to work in Illinois schools.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Experience: Experience in a school setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Background Check: Passing a background check and fingerprinting as required by the state of Illinois.
  • Continuing Education: Continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.
