Leadership Opportunity in Emergency/Acute Services Psychiatry

Join the University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry as a Clinical Chief of the Adult Acute Psychiatry Division. This full-time position offers a unique blend of clinical leadership and patient care within acute services. As a key member of the team, you will oversee the quality of care delivered by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians in various service areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic planning to establish and implement clinical service goals
  • Lead the development and implementation of program initiatives, integration of education and research, and budgetary oversight
  • Collaborate with nursing, social work, and other discipline leadership to support staff development and recruitment
  • Participate in review of critical incidents and patient and family concerns
  • Oversee the coordination of physician coverage for vacations, conferences, sick time, and other absences
  • Directly participate in physician recruitment process
  • Perform chart reviews to assess standard of care in documentation by physicians
Requirements:
  • Must possess an MD or equivalent and be board certified (or board eligible)
  • Must obtain NYS licensure prior to start
  • Will require an unrestricted DEA prior to start
