The Senior Financial Analyst – Cost of Goods is responsible for providing analytical support across all brands within the Specialty Restaurant Group.
The primary objective of the Senior Financial Analyst is to conduct routine to highly intricate financial evaluations that align with business strategies, adhering to established protocols, departmental standards, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
This role will also focus on analyzing and reporting business performance in a precise and impartial manner.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as the primary contact for operational cost efficiencies at month-end, addressing Food & Beverage waste inquiries and adjustments from operators, while collaborating with the VP Executive Chef to pinpoint areas for waste reduction.
Serves as a liaison among culinary, finance, menu systems, supply chain, and product planning to ensure accurate costing of new menu items and batch recipe ingredients, ensuring alignment with recipes in both menu systems and recipe documentation.
Guarantees the precision of all theoretical costs, yields, and production timelines for culinary systems.Evaluates recipes and ingredients within the brand's pantry and overall product range to provide insights for enhanced cross-utilization of products, aiming to achieve cost and execution efficiencies.
Collects and analyzes data related to key performance indicators for Finance, Operations Excellence, Operations leadership, and the Executive Chef, offering go/no-go recommendations for culinary and service operations initiatives, pilots, and tests.
Assists the Operations Excellence team with troubleshooting and resolving operational issues within service and culinary systems across all restaurants for identified opportunities.
Acts as a liaison between IT, the advanced analytics team, and third-party vendors to gather information, ensuring all materials are accurate for new system implementations and ongoing enhancements across all SRG brands.
Provides follow-up with culinary and service systems vendors as required for the Operations Excellence team.Fosters cross-functional relationships within the brand, support center departments, and Operations.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Minimum of 3 years of experience with increasing responsibility in complex financial analysis and reporting functions.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Advanced knowledge of restaurant operations systems.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, operations management, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience in service operations.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with all organizational levels.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and achieve results.
Strong customer/client service orientation.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Capacity to anticipate needs and potential challenges proactively.
Creative thinker; seeks innovative solutions and views change as a positive and motivating factor.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience in restaurant management or a financial background within the industry.
Familiarity with statistics, corporate finance, and/or accounting principles.
Knowledge of financial systems such as HFM, Oracle, MicroStrategy BI, OneStream, or similar.
Experience with analytical tools and/or automation technologies: Alteryx, R, Robotic Process Automation, advanced Excel (Power Query, VBA).
